yeah... sometimes i just need to ingest tropes and my brain simply cannot handle literature that makes me Think. i've heard SO many good things about oewbg and i can't wait to read it and i don't know why i keep putting it off! and i'll definitely take that rec into account. i don't usually consume poetry books in one go! i am #scared_of_commitment so starting novels is always a little ehhh for me, especially dealing with new characters + worldbuilding. but poetry is always like, you could literally flip to the middle of the book and read the poem just on that page and it'll be perfectly fine. but if you don't mind me inserting a poetry book rec here, i loved The Carrying by Ada Limon (moreso than Bright Dead Things, which feels kind of like a crime but whatever)!!
